Al Bashir Preparation for Accreditation Activity

The “Al Bashir Hospitals Preparation for Accreditation Activity” is a four-and-a half-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development/Jordan (USAID/Jordan) under Fixed Amount Award No. 72027818FA00001 and is implemented by the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC), in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the hospitals’ leadership and staff. The Activity commenced on 17 September 2018 and is expected to span over a period of Fifty-Four (54) months; thus, ending on 16 March 2023, contingent upon stakeholder responsiveness and not factoring in any external challenges beyond the scope and control of HCAC. The Activity is designed exclusively to drive enhancements in the quality of services and patient safety at Al Bashir Hospitals, with the goal of improving the health status in Jordan, through the preparation of the hospitals for accreditation.

During my working period with this project, I handled the following tasks and responsibilities:

1. Participated in development of project annual plan and budget to ensure the implementation of USAID agreement

2. Prepared and conducted training programs (certification courses and workshops) including: - Client needs assessment; Developing training plan; Developing course curriculum; Delivering training; and Course evaluation, to ensure that HCAC certification courses and workshops meet USAID requirements and client’s need particularly I handled the training for the "Healthcare Certified Quality Practitioner" and the "Healthcare Certified Risk Manager".

3. Coordinated consultation services including: - Gap analysis; action plans to implement standards; provide offsite and onsite consultation, to ensure that services are executed as per activity plan and meet client needs.

4. Conducted monitoring and evaluation activities for standards implementation.

5. Prepared progress reports including activity specific reports, training activity reports, and consultation reports.

6. Participated in reviewing assessment reports including interim and mock assessment to ensure that they meet HCAC reporting requirements.

7. Lead the process of the development of action plan to ensure quality and patient safety improvement and standards implementation.
